Highway 74 Closes In Menifee Due To Serious Crash

MENIFEE, CA — Highway 74 was closed in both directions Wednesday morning in Menifee due to a serious crash involving a motorcyclist.

The wreck was reported at 6:24 at Sherman Road, according to authorities.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said crews responded to the scene and found that a vehicle and a motorcyclist had crashed.

One person was sent to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, the agency said.

Around 7:30 a.m. the Menifee Police Department advised that Highway 74 was closed in both directions between Trumble and Sherman roads. The highway's intersection at Watson Road was also closed.

"The roadway will remain closed for several hours and we will update as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience," Menifee police said.

By late morning, the roadway reopened.
