TEMECULA, CA — Traffic along the I-15 from Temecula toward San Diego was slow-and-go in spots Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just south of Temecula, CHP arrived at an incident just east of the I-15 on Old Highway 395 North at Rainbow Valley Boulevard West, affecting freeway on and off ramps. Traffic temporarily slowed in both directions at 9 a.m., according to the CHP.

The incident had a residual effect on the southbound I-15 off-ramp to Old Highway 395, as the roadway was blocked. Tow trucks have been called to the scene and are expected by 9:45 a.m. Details of the incident were still unfolding as of 9:15 a.m.

Further north, in Temescal Canyon, an animal hazard has drawn officials to the I-15 south of Temescal Canyon Road.

Northbound traffic in that area slowed near the I-15 and Temescal Canyon Road off-ramp. There, a large pitbull was seen walking against traffic at 8:30 a.m. CHP responded to the scene, and no other information was immediately available.

Further north, in Riverside, southbound I-15 drivers slowed due to a gray Chevrolet Tahoe Truck that ran out of gas, CHP says.

That truck reached the center divider while the driver awaited assistance with the vehicle.
