Just Checkin' In

I’m not sure where this piece is going to end up on the Patch site. I couldn’t wait to participate in local events as a journalist, contributing op-ed pieces, and ruminations (I believe that’s what the early Patch editors called contributing writers). It’s been about two years since I’ve posted on this site which has evolved into a global news service of sorts. Bulletin boards and classifieds serve the community, to some degree, but I miss the local voices. Let me see where this piece plunks on
