RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose two-tenths of a cent today to $2.823, one day after dropping three-tenths of a cent.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 1.7 cents higher than one week ago, but 1 cent less than one month ago and 93.5 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price
Information Service.
"The ExxonMobil Torrance refinery has just sent notices it will begin restarting operations (this weekend) after a 15-month closure due to a major explosion, and if the restart is incident-free, a major source of gasoline for Southern California will be restored, bringing more price stability,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
