Man Arrested On Sex Charges After Girl Seeking Babysitting Jobs Knocks On His Door: Police

The 23-year-old Murrieta suspect allegedly shared sexually-explicit photos of himself with the teen, 15.

MURRIETA, CA --- A 15-year-old girl went to her neighbors' homes to look for babysitting jobs, and a 23-year-old Murrieta man was arrested for responding with sexually-explicit photos of himself.

John Luis Colberg, 23, of Murrieta, was booked at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on charges of sending harmful material to a minor with intent to seduce, and communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a sex act, Murrieta police said.

The 15-year-old girl was passing out flyers for babysitting in the 24000 block of Echo Ridge Drive around 3 p.m. June 11, when she came across Colberg's home and gave him a flyer.

He later used the information on the flyer to text the victim sexually-explicit photos and messages requesting a "massage," police said.

Colberg continued to text the victim for three days, until the child's parents contacted police.

Colberg tried to set up a meeting with the girl on June 15, but authorities arrested him near the girl's home around noon that day, police said.

Colberg is set to appear in court August 10 at 7:30 a.m.
