Man Who Brought Body to Sheriff's Station Sentenced to Life
After killing a woman off Highway 74, Jason Richard Budrow put her in her trunk and drove the car to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's station.

A Good Hope man was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing a woman and delivering her body to a sheriff's station in the trunk of her car.
Jason Richard Budrow, 31, pleaded guilty to killing 48-year-old Margret Dalton in a trailer off Highway 74 in Good Hope, where Budrow had been living, according to the District Attorney's Office.
At 7:15 a.m. Oct. 22, Budrow arrived at the sheriff's station in Lake Elsinore and told a sergeant he had killed a woman and her body was in the trunk of the car. The sergeant found the body and arrested Budrow.

Budrow and the victim had known each other for about six months, and Budrow had asked Dalton to come to his trailer that night with the intention of killing her, apparently believing she was a police informant, authorities said.
Budrow could have faced a death sentence if the case had gone to trial.

In 2004, Budrow was convicted in Riverside County for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. He was required to register as a sex offender and wore a tracking device that he removed from his ankle before going to the sheriff's station with Dalton's body, authorities said.
