• owning the room/how to get out of your head
• improvisational skills to help illuminate the characters past
• how to create a situation when the script is not given to you
• what to do when you first enter the audition space
• how to live in an intimate conversation while on stage
• techniques and secrets that will instantly put you in the headspace of your character
• how to come in the room and have a relationship
• how to handle a callback

With a smaller size class everyone will have the chance to work "hands -on" with Jimmy. You will not only be working on your own material, but also helping others reach new heights in their work through improvising certain moments of the scene that the text is requiring of you. We will do a lot of this work in class so you know how to achieve the same thing when you are prepping for an audition at home, with friends, or by yourself.
Students are encouraged to bring their current audition material for Musical Theater, including sheet music or backing track, a monologue, or a scene if they have an audition coming up. Jimmy will also provide scenes from current TV, Film, or Broadway. Please be passionate about a particular scene or character you are choosing to bring in. If the character is daunting, we will tackle it. Bring something in that is challenging for you.
The day will start with a proper warm up, so please bring comfortable clothes.
