In a successful first term, Melendez authored seven bills that became law. Among her achievements were laws to crack down on domestic violence against children, increase transparency in our electoral process, paving the way for lifesaving technology in schools, and expand the financial protections to military reservists.
“I was able to pass meaningful legislation in my first term and there is still work that needs to get done,” Melendez said. “California has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, a broken criminal justice system, and outrageous taxes; I plan on hitting the ground running in my second term.”
