Menifee Man Dies Following Crash On Normandy Road
The crash was reported at 4:04 p.m. Sunday on Normandy Road, approximately 900 feet west of Berea Road, according to the coroner.
MENIFEE, CA — A Menifee motorcyclist who was injured in a traffic crash Sunday afternoon in the city has died, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
James Whiten, 60, died at Wildomar's Inland Valley Medical Center less than an hour after the crash reported at 4:04 p.m. on Normandy Road, approximately 900 feet west of Berea Road, according to the coroner.
Whiten was riding his Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Normandy Road when a 38-year-old Corona man at the wheel of a Jeep approached from the opposite direction.

When the Jeep driver turned at the intersection with Berea Road, Whiten hit the jeep, according to Menifee police Sgt. Matthew Bloch.
The Jeep driver immediately stopped, Bloch reported.

Normandy Road was closed while police investigated the "major-injury traffic collision."
The crash cause remains under investigation. The Jeep driver was not suspected to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, according to Bloch.
