Murrieta 29th Birthday Bash, Firework Spectacular Canceled

California is currently in Stage 2 of its re-opening process, which does not permit festivals or public gatherings.

Press release from the city of Murrieta: In accordance with continued restrictions on large gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city of Murrieta has announced the cancellation of its 29th Birthday Bash and Firework Spectacular, which was set for June 27.

“Like many of you, we are saddened to pull the plug on this year’s Birthday Bash,” says Community Service’s Senior Program Manager, Brian Ambrose. “But our focus is community; and the health and safety of residents remains our top priority. We are committed to moving through the re-opening process thoughtfully, and in-sync with state and local guidelines, but we will continue to creatively connect with residents to celebrate our city’s 29th year.”

He adds that the city is preparing to come back with extra flare in 2021 to celebrate Murrieta’s 30th Birthday with Queen Nation as a headlining band. California is currently in Stage 2 of its re-opening process, which does not permit festivals or public gatherings. The ordinance, which by law applies to all jurisdictions, introduces large events in Stage 4, after the end of the Stay-at-Home Order.
