Murrieta Bicyclist Dies From Injuries In Temecula Crash

TEMECULA, CA — A Murrieta man who was struck by a car while riding his bike in Temecula over the weekend has died from his injuries, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.
Kenrick Skinner, 82, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
The crash involving Skinner and the motorist was reported at 7:18 a.m. Saturday at Margarita Road and Paseo Brillante, the sheriff's department said.

"The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a gray Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Margarita Road when the bicyclist crossed into oncoming traffic. The driver of the vehicle collided into the bicyclist," the sheriff's department reported.
Skinner was unresponsive when he was found in the roadway, according to the sheriff's department.

Margarita Road was closed between Stonewood and Moraga roads for several hours Saturday as deputies from the Southwest Sheriff's Station investigated.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Deputy Hoctor of the Southwest Station at 951-696-3000.
