MURRIETA, CA — The new Murrieta Costco warehouse store at Interstate 215 is finally opening, one week after its 32-pump gas station began welcoming customers.

The Costco project has been years in the making. There were rumors years back that the retailer was eyeing property in Wildomar, then news broke that a Costco would land in Murrieta. There was speculation by some social media users that the Murrieta deal had fallen through, but in July 2019 the city confirmed Costco was committed to opening the warehouse location off I-215.

The Murrieta location is the third in Southwest Riverside County. A Temecula store is located at 26610 Ynez Road, and Lake Elsinore has a Costco at 29315 Central Avenue.
