Murrieta Couple Named Top Pool Host For Their Solar-Heated Tiki Oasis

MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta couple has been named the top pool host in the greater Riverside area by Swimply, a pool-sharing marketplace that allows homeowners to rent out private pools.
Shawn and Shartelle Fears were selected as the No. 1 Choice Award winner for the region as part of the Swimply Choice Awards, which recognize standout pool hosts across the country. Check out the listing here.
According to Swimply, award winners are chosen based on a combination of exceptional hosting, striking design and the overall experience they provide to guests in their city. Annual bookings and revenue are not part of the selection criteria.

The Fears own a solar-heated tiki oasis pool with a hot tub in Murrieta. The outdoor, saltwater pool measures 22 feet by 44 feet and ranges from 3 to 6 feet deep. The property allows for large gatherings, with up to 55 guests welcome and parking for up to 12 cars on site.
"This Tiki Oasis is perfect for families, small gatherings and celebrations! It has two waterfalls and a water slide which is surrounded by lush, green palm trees," the Fears' wrote on the listing.

Guests also have access to lawn games such as cornhole, giant Jenga, tiki ring toss and a poolside basketball hoop. A barbecue and spa are available upon request, and hosts encourage parties to hire lifeguards for added safety during larger gatherings.
While revenue was not considered in the award decision, the couple earned additional income in 2025 by renting out their pool through the platform, according to Swimply.
