Murrieta Fireworks 2017: Catch A Show At City's Annual Birthday Bash

Happy birthday to Murrieta ... and Happy (almost) Fourth of July!

MURRIETA, CA – Murrieta residents will soon have two reasons to celebrate with a fabulous fireworks show: It's Murrieta's birthday and it's almost Independence Day. The city is gearing up for its 26th annual birthday bash, set for Saturday, July 1.

The event is happening at California Oaks Sports Park from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the park, located at 40600 California Oaks Road, according to the city. It's free to attend, but there will be food and other vendors at the site which will cost money.

Beginning at 5 p.m., live entertainment will be on hand. 'Live From Earth: A Tribute To Pat Benatar' is slated to take the stage first, followed by a 7 p.m. performance by 'Lights- A Tribute To Journey.'

Then, at approximately 9 p.m., a fireworks show will begin.
