Murrieta Gang Task Force Joins Parole-Probation Sweep

Cops made 25 felony arrests, 50 misdemeanor arrests, and located stolen cars during the coordinated sweep.

MURRIETA, CA — Officials made multiple felony arrests over the weekend during a combined-effort parole and probation compliance sweep, officials say.

Born out of an effort to create safe and secure neighborhoods in the Hemet and San Jacinto communities, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department organized a series of Parole and Probation Compliance Sweep/ Saturation Patrol checks at multiple locations within the San Jacinto Valley.

The effort focused on the cities of San Jacinto and Hemet, as well as other unincorporated communities in the area.

During the enforcement period there were a total of:

  • 25 felony arrests.
  • 50 misdemeanor arrests.
  • Firearm.
  • Several rounds of live ammunition.
  • Over 1 pound of methamphetamine.
  • Over $4,000 in Asset Forfeiture.
  • Recovered Stolen Vehicle.
  • 115 traffic citations.
  • 14 vehicles towed and stored
  • 2 DUI arrests.
  • 32 parking violations
  • Officers worked in a combined partnership with the Hemet Gang Task Force, Cabazon Gang Task Force, Murrieta Gang Task Force, Perris Gang Task Force, San Jacinto Station Special Enforcement Team, Jurupa Station Special Enforcement Team, Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team, Riverside Sheriff’s K9 Team, Riverside Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, Cois Byrd Detention Facility, Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, Cal Fire, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Division, traffic teams from San Jacinto Station, Perris Station, Lake Elsinore Station, Palm Desert Station, Thermal Station.

    The success of the sweep encourages the San Jacinto and Hemet Sheriff’s Station to conduct similar sweeps on an ongoing basis, they said.
