Murrieta Man Arrested After Attacking Relatives: Police

Officers arrived at a 1st Avenue home where one family member had injured others, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta resident was arrested outside a family home after he attacked relatives inside a Murrieta home, police reported Wednesday.

Wane Stonecipher, 37, was arrested on pending charges of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center and was being held on $2 million bail.

Just before 12:30 p.m., a resident called 911 reporting a domestic disturbance inside a home on the 24000 block of 1st Avenue. Murrieta police officers and paramedics from the Murrieta Fire and Rescue arrived to find three of Stonecipher's relatives "attempting to subdue" him in the front yard, and three injured family members inside the home.

Stonecipher was injured by relatives as they attempted to stop his rampage, according to reports.

Two of the people attacked were taken to the hospital and were listed in stable condition, according to Murrieta Police Lt. Jeremy Durrant's report.

Three more family members inside the home had also been injured, Durrant reported, "all with varying levels of visible injuries."

Stonecipher was given medical treatment for a head injury before his arrest. He is slated to appear at Murrieta's Southwest Justice Center on Friday at 8 a.m.
