Murrieta Man Murdered, Son Arrested: Police

Police say the man's son stabbed him to death.

MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta man is behind bars Monday, suspected of killing his own father over the weekend. Nicolas Hunt-Tanner, 22, is accused of attacking and murdering his dad on Saturday afternoon.

It happened just before 3 p.m. in the 39000 block of Sunrose Drive, according to Murrieta Police Lt. Tony Conrad. Police were summoned to the house, which is located near Los Alamos Road and Hancock Avenue, for a "medical aid" call.

"Paramedics and Murrieta Police Officers arrived at the residence and located an adult male in his 50's with significant injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and stab wounds," Conrad said in a news release. "The male was pronounced deceased at the scene."

"The investigation is on-going, however there are no outstanding suspects and the detectives have recovered the weapons involved in the crime," Conrad said.
