Defensive back Davian Neitz repeated the feat three minutes later and earned himself an asterisk with a 60-yard TD after intercepting Dakota Wilson’s pass.

In a game that featured 70 points, it’s hard to imagine that Chase only threw 12 passes, completing 10 for 135 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rams ran for a season high 267 yards and 4 touchdowns, two by Kyler Vasquez.

Mesa has a bye this coming week as it prepares for league play against the Pumas of Chaparral.

The Pumas are a  perennial football powerhouse in the valley and are coming off a 17-14 loss to Tesoro, ranked 13th in the State.

The newest football program in one of the toughest leagues in Southern California, Mesa is looking to add more trivia, asterisks and records this year.

The Rams have yet to win a game against Southwestern league schools in their division and are hoping to celebrate their first league victory this year.

All five of their league opponents were ranked in the top 25 of
what football critics feel is one of the toughest CIF leagues. Mesa started the season ranked 20th.

The next game is Oct. 5 against Chaparral at home.
