Murrieta Road Construction Projects Delayed
The projects are expected to widen Murrieta Hot Springs Road and install a turning lane at Alta Murrieta Drive.
MURRIETA, CA — City officials announced on Thursday two projects aimed at improving traffic have been delayed until further notice.
The city said it is working with contractors and utility agencies to complete widening Murrieta Hot Springs Road, and construction of a right turn lane into Murrieta Plaza on Alta Murrieta and Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
The widening project is expected to expand Murrieta Hot Springs Road from four lanes to six lanes between east Via Princesa and Del Haven Street with the project spanning Margarita Road to Winchester Road, the city announced last year.
At Alta Murrieta Drive, crews will install a 14-foot right-turn lane on eastbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road to alleviate traffic congestion. The construction work begins on the east Interstate 215 off-ramp.
The city said on its Facebook page that the project delay was due to "unforeseen circumstances."
