MURRIETA, CA — Six Murrieta senior high school students were celebrated in the November Student of the Month program.

  • Alexis Rodriguez of Murrieta Canyon Academy
  • Blake Showalter of Oak Grove School
  • Grace Dwinnell of Springs Charter School
  • Camila Bello of Vista Murrieta High School
  • Haven Anozie of Murrieta Mesa High School

The students were honored at a breakfast by the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce program. Each selected student was chosen because they make a difference in their home, school, and community, according to a recent news release.

The Student of the Month Program, founded by Sally A. Myers, honors accomplished Murrieta senior students to celebrate and recognize local high school seniors for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school activities, athletics, and community service or for their ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education, according t their website.

Each Student of the Month is eligible to compete for the honor of being named their school's Student of the Year. Students of the Year receive a college scholarship to the college, university, or trade school of their choice.

"We could not be more proud to call these students Murrieta residents," a spokesperson from the city said.
