Murrieta Temps to Reach 104: Excessive Heat Warning In Effect, NWS Says
Get ready for some triple-digit temperatures in the Temecula Valley.
MURRIETA, CA- National Weather Service officials are warning area residents of "dangerous" heat in the Inland Empire in the coming days, with temperatures predicted to get up to 104 in Murrieta.
It's the first heat wave of the season, and it's expected to send temperatures soaring up to 20 degrees above normal and into the triple digits in several locales, according to the National Weather Service. Some places in the Inland Empire could see 106 degrees, while it's predicted to get between 110 and 116 in the lower deserts.

A NWS excessive heat warning for the Coachella Valley, the San Gorgonio Pass and the valleys around Riverside is set to take effect at 10 a.m. Friday and extend until 8 p.m. Sunday. Included under the warning are the cities of Banning, Cathedral City, Coachella, Corona, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Riverside and Temecula.
A less serious heat advisory will be in force at the same time in the mountains of Riverside county, where high temperatures are forecast to be between 88 and 102 degrees.

"The effects of the excessive heat will be magnified since high temperatures toward the end of May were below average," the alert states.
Weather Service officials warned people to take extra precautions if they will be working or spending time outside.
"Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke," officials said. "Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water."

- Riverside: Friday, 99; Saturday, 98
- Perris: Friday, 103; Saturday, 100
- Moreno Valley: Friday, 104; Saturday, 102
- Temecula: Friday, 100; Saturday, 102
- Lake Esinore: Friday, 103; Saturday, 103
- Murrieta: Friday, 101; Saturday, 104
