Murrieta's Halloween Home Decorating Contest Planned For October

It's time to dress up your home in its spookiest finery for Murrieta's Halloween Home Decorating Contest! Here's what to know if you enter.

MURRIETA, CA — If you love hauling out the cauldrons, skeletons, headstones, zombies, and spooky ghosts to deck out your front yard in Murrieta, this event is for you.

The city's Halloween Home Decorating Contest is planned for residents within the city limits, according to the community services department. Register your address on the city's website starting Oct. 2 through Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m. in order to make it on the Murrieta Halloween Home map. Late entries are not allowed, and registration is free, according to the city.

The map is expected to be published for all on or around Oct. 19, and all judging will take place between Oct. 21 and 28, according to the city. The exact judging rules were not yet released. However, entrants will be judged in categories of Best Theme, Most Original, Silliest, and Scariest.

Trunk Or Treat Is Free For Murrieta Residents At Town Square Park:

The city will also hold its annual Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at Town Square Park and Amphitheater, located at 11 Town Square.

"Allocated Trunk or Treat spaces have been exclusively set aside for city personnel and departments and are not available to the public.
This year, attendees can look forward to the addition of food vendors," according to an event spokesperson. So dress your spookiest and enjoy the fun!
