Murrieta's Top February Students Announced
Murrieta Chamber of Commerce High School Student of the Month Program was held and the students shown in the attached photo were recognized.

From Murrieta Valley Unified School District: On February 22, 2018, the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce High School Student of the Month Program was held and the students shown in the attached photo were recognized.

Vista Murrieta High School Senior Danielle Shores is an AP Scholar with 8 AP classes and a 4.3 GPA. Danielle is a member of California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society. She has been involved in ASB and on the cheer team four years. She was also on the swim team and the principal’s advisory committee. Danielle is known for her strong work ethic and teamwork. She plans to attend a private university as a pre-med, biological sciences major. Her goal is to become an emergency medical physician, possibly in a third world country.
Murrieta Canyon Academy Senior Sirenamarie Cruz is co-enrolled at Murrieta Mesa where she is in the medical pathway. She transferred to Murrieta Canyon for the independent study program due to medical issues. Sirenamarie wants to advocate for domestic violence victims and become a physical therapist at a VA hospital. She is also interested in being an athletic trainer. Sirenamarie has been accepted to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.

Murrieta Mesa High School Senior Christian Demesa is a top scholar at his school. He has a 4.3 GPA and has taken 12 AP classes. Christian is a four- year AVID student and he has been involved in Model United Nations for three years, serving as president of the club for two years. Thanks to Christian’s efforts, Murrieta Mesa will be hosting their first Model United Nations at the school. Christian is known for being a kind and enthusiastic learner who helps his peers. Christian was inspired by his mother’s example and in turn, he wants to inspire others to follow their dreams. He plans to go to Fordham University and become a math teacher.
Murrieta Valley High School Senior Erick Eguia is a top student who has a 4.3 GPA and has taken 11 AP Classes. Erick is a Vice President of the Science Olympiad team and Vice President of California Scholarship Federation. He is on the Robotics Team, National Honor Society and he is in Student Venture. Erick played soccer for three years and is active in his church youth group. Erick also volunteers for Relay for Life and he tutors other students in math. As a freshman, Erick decided he wanted to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology and he has received a 90% scholarship to attend MIT. He plans to earn degrees in biochemical engineering and change the world by finding a cure for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Springs Charter School Senior Noah Emery is a stellar student who is a positive force at his school. He has taken numerous AP and Dual Enrollment courses and he is on his school’s leadership team. Noah also volunteers at Loma Linda hospital. Noah is compassionate and he teaches preschool at his church. Having been raised in the church, Noah’s mission is to be a beacon of light. Noah has applied to UCLA and he wants to be a constitutional attorney.
Oak Grove senior Anisa Fontes is an outstanding student and positive leader. In the short time she has been at Oak Grove, she has made an impact on other students and the teachers. Anisa said she is overcoming negative choices and is working on managing her harmful behaviors. She has shown resilience and doesn’t let setbacks stop her from achieving her goals. Anisa had a 4.0 GPA on her last report card and she is on track to graduate. Anisa is artistic, compassionate, kind, and wise. Anisa tutors other students two hours a day and she loves making a positive impact on children’s lives. She especially enjoys working with students in the school’s autism program and she wants to be a special education teacher.
