Larsen and McGinty were given seven episodes on "Glee," while Alex Newell, 18, from Lynn, Mass., and Lindsay Pearce, 20, from Modesto, Calif., each got two-episode arcs on the show, People reported.
According to People, Larsen tried out for "Glee" last season.
"It did kind of feel like fate, having gone for Glee before and coming so close," Larsen told People. "In that moment, I felt like I just blew it, I didn't get it, but it just made me hungrier. I remember the other night just talking to [casting director] Robert [Ulrich] and going, 'I'm so much happier getting this role than if I would have gotten Sam. This role is much more me.' "
Larsen is a 2009 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School.
