Nearly 1,000 Murrieta Residents Without Power At Start Of Heatwave
A planned power outage left much of southwest Murrieta without power Monday.
MURRIETA, CA — Just under 1,000 homes and businesses were without power much of the day Monday as SoCal Edison crews worked to improve area lines, officials reported.
On Monday at 8 a.m., crews began a power shutdown south of Murrieta Hot Springs and north of Whitewood Road, a SoCal Edison spokesperson said. A total of 932 customers were impacted by the outage, according to SCE.
Though Murrieta is under an Excessive Heat Watch, temperatures in Murrieta did not go above 90 degrees during the outage, according to Accuweather report.

"The crew turned the power off so they could work safely," a spokesperson said. The outage would continue while the upgrades to the lines were put into place.
All power was expected to be restored by 4 p.m.
