New Neurological Rehab Hospital Opens In Murrieta

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Murrieta​, 35470 Whitewood Road, will begin accepting patients later this month.

MURRIETA, CA — A new rehabilitation hospital celebrated its grand opening in Murrieta this week.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Murrieta, 35470 Whitewood Road, focuses on providing inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes and other neurological disorders, hip fractures, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions, according to a statement from the Birmingham, Alabama-based parent company, Encompass Health Corp.

The facility will begin accepting patients later this month, according to Encompass.

“We are excited to welcome our first patients into our hospital to help them discover new possibilities and find the confidence to move past their illnesses or injuries,” said Perry Ebeltoft, chief executive officer of the hospital. “With this state-of-the-art hospital and the work of our talented team, we are well positioned to make a great impact in the lives of people in this community.”

Encompass Health Murrieta features 50 private patient rooms, two therapy gyms, an in-house pharmacy, courtyard, dining room and dayroom areas.

During Wednesday's grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, remarks were delivered by Ebeltoft; Dr. Nicole Hanrahan, medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Murrieta; Murrieta Mayor Gene Wunderlich; and Mark Tarr, president and CEO of Encompass Health Corp.
