'No Obvious Signs' In Cause Of Murrieta Woman's Death: Police

The woman, found near Tenaja Falls, had been missing for more than 4 days when her body was located.

MURRIETA, CA — As authorities continue to investigate the case of a Murrieta woman who was reported missing — and then dead — last week, we're learning more about the possible cause of death; or, at least what didn't kill her. Sheriff's officials say there was no clear cause as to what claimed the life of Jennifer Kinsella-Grindle upon completion of an autopsy, which means there likely wasn't a weapon involved. They are now waiting for some test results to come back.

"I can tell you that there were no obvious signs of homicide or suicide and we are waiting for toxicology results," sheriff's Deputy Armando Munoz said in an email to Patch on Thursday evening.

Those sorts of tests often take weeks to be completed. We'll be sure to follow up with authorities as information becomes available related to the results.

Community members have expressed concern about Kinsella-Grindle's death, worried about a possible attack or other danger on the popular Tenaja Truck Trail. Earlier this week, sheriff's officials stressed that "there is no known risk to the public."

The last day that someone reported seeing the woman was on Monday, Aug. 28 around 2 p.m. You can read the approximate timeline of what we've gathered thus far in the case here.
