Obama Plans Another Visit to Riverside County
The president will again host a summit at the Sunnylands property in Rancho Mirage.

President Barack Obama will host a February summit of leaders from Southeast Asian nations at the Sunnylands Resort in Rancho Mirage.
Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will travel to the Coachella Valley on Feb. 15 and 16, according to Japan’s Kyodo News.

According to a White House official, the summit was the product of an invitation Obama extended during a stop in Malaysia last month.
“The president is pleased the leaders have accepted his invitation to gather at Sunnylands,” National Security Council spokesman Myles Caggins told the Washington Post.

The president is a frequent traveler to the Coachella Valley, last visiting in June for a weekend of golf and relaxation.
He has previously held high-level state meetings at the Sunnylands Resort and Gardens, including 2013 talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
