Park Attack: Hemet Brothers, Temecula Teens Accused of Robbing, Assaulting Custodians

Two maintenance workers were allegedly attacked and robbed at Margarita Community Park, police said.

MURRIETA, CA - Two brothers accused of attacking maintenance workers at a Temecula park were charged Wednesday with robbery and assault.

Derek DeKing Noble, 23, and Dextric Anthony Noble, 25, both of Hemet, were arrested Saturday following a Riverside County sheriff's investigation.

The brothers were slated to make their initial court appearances Wednesday afternoon at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. They're each being held in lieu of $30,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center.

The two arrests followed the arrests of two unidentified Temecula juveniles in the case, which police say happened back on July 30. According to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Chris Gaskins, Temecula police were called out to Margarita Community Park just after midnight that day for the alleged assault.

"Two custodians were conducting park maintenance and were confronted by a group of males," Gaskins said in a news release. "The males demanded the victims’ personal property and fled the area prior to officers arriving."

The defendants became physical when the victims didn't immediately comply, Gaskins alleged.

Gaskins said that after some follow-up investigation, police were able to identify two Temecula teenage boys in the case, who were ultimately arrested on Friday.

"On August 6, 2016, additional follow-up was conducted and two male adults were arrested at their residence in the City of Hemet," Gaskins said, referring to the arrests of the Noble bothers. "Property taken during this incident has been recovered."

According to court records, Derek Noble has prior convictions for assault with a deadly weapon and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. His older brother has priors for burglary, shoplifting and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
