Pedestrian Killed On Winchester Road In French Valley
The tragic incident was reported on the northbound side of Winchester, just south of Skyview Road.
FRENCH VALLEY, CA — The California Highway Patrol released details about a fatal crash this week involving a pedestrian on Winchester Road in French Valley.
The tragic incident was reported at 9:23 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of Winchester, just south of Skyview Road.
According to the CHP's preliminary report, a 31-year-old Moreno Valley man was walking "within the northbound #1 lane of Winchester Road" when a Mercedes-Benz SUV struck him.
The 41-year-old man from Moreno Valley who was driving the Mercedes did not see the pedestrian, the CHP reported.
The driver, who suffered minor injuries, remained at the scene. The pedestrian, whose identity was not immediately released, died at the scene.
"DUI is not suspected," according to the CHP.
No arrests were announced.
