Phones Down at Two Murrieta Schools

The phones at Murrieta Mesa High School and Dorothy McElhinney Middle School were affected by a power outage that occurred in Murrieta over the weekend.

Phone systems at two schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District remained down Monday after a power outage over the weekend, officials said.

and were unable to receive phone calls today, said Karen Parris, district spokesperson, in an email.

"Because the server failed, it is a lengthy process to rebuild the hardware and restore the phone service," Parris said.

"We are hoping that limited incoming phone service will be restored some time tomorrow."

Parris said email is working at both schools, and is the best way to reach administrators, school staff and teachers until the phone service is completely restored.
