GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Vista Murrieta Defeats Temecula Valley 3-0

The Vista Murrieta Broncos' and Temecula Valley Golden Bears' girls volleyball teams played in a recent match dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer.

In their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game held Oct. 18, the Broncos shut down the Golden Bears 3-0.

Both girls volleyball teams sported pink-themed outfits to support the cause but the action on court was fast and furious. Vista Murrieta took the first two games 25-18 and swept the Temecula Valley Golden Bears with a 25-14 win in the final set.

Alyse Whitaker had 26 kills for the Broncos, while Amanda Pederson-Henry had 10. Christin Fisher had 14 digs and Morgan Nunley had 48 assists.

Temecula Valley’s Marissa Laster had seven kills and Cassidy Wilson had eight. Mikayla Lebo had seven digs and Caley Yoder had one assist and three digs of her own.

With the win, Vista is 8-2 in league play, behind league-leading Chaparral.

The Golden Bears fell to 2-4.
