Ramona Expressway Crash Downs RivCo Communications Line
A trash truck and another vehicle collided on the Ramona Expressway Wednesday morning, involving a Frontier Communications line.
PERRIS, CA — A trash truck collided with another vehicle and a power pole, collapsing the high-speed internet and cell phone communication lines, the California Highway Patrol dispatch reported Wednesday.
One person was transported from the scene by ambulance, though the power pole itself was not damaged, according to the CHP dispatch.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., a gray Honda Civic and gray Toyota collided on the Ramona Expressway, involving the power pole.
Cal Fire/Riverside County was dispatched to the 34400 block of the Ramona Expressway and Bridge for a reported trash truck that hit live electrical wires, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa said. One person was transported from the scene by ambulance with an unknown injury, and their status was not immediately released.
Both vehicles involved were disabled and required towing, according to the CHP, and the incident was closed by 10 a.m., according to reports.
There were no immediate updates on the internet or cell phone outages due to the crash.
