Preston Quine drove into the store, then went on a rage once inside, according to the sheriff's department.

MENIFEE, CA — A drugged driver was arrested Tuesday for smashing his vehicle through the doors of Walgreens in Menifee, then going on a rampage inside the store, breaking whatever he could find, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.

Preston Quine, 27, of Menifee was booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of driving under the influence of controlled substances, driving on a suspended license and felony vandalism.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Steve Staton, about 12:50 a.m. Quine drove his vehicle into the front entrance of a Walgreens at 30251 Murrieta Road.

Patrol deputies arrived within two minutes and stopped Quine, taking him into custody without further incident, Staton said.

There was no explanation for why Quine committed the offenses — all of which were captured on store security surveillance video cameras, according to Staton.

No employees or customers were injured.

Quine was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified minor injuries, then transported to jail.
There was no word on the estimated monetary loss stemming from the damage to the business.
