Residents Displaced In Intense Murrieta House Fire

MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta fire crews knocked down a fire at a two-story home in town early Friday — while also helping police get an elderly couple to safety. Unfortunately, Patch is told that three people were displaced in the incident.*
The fire broke out around midnight in the 24000 block of Via Las Junitas. Images from the scene showed flames and smoke pouring out of the house.
"Crews arrived on scene to find the second story well involved," Murrieta Fire & Rescue wrote on Facebook. "After a transitional fire attack crews made entry, located and extinguished the fire."

Though crews contained the blaze with in about 15 minutes, they remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire was fully out and to conduct overhaul.
Patch is told that the residents were evaluated at the scene, but were not taken by ambulance to the hospital.

*Patch previously reported that animals were missing in the fire, but we've learned that crews later found one dog and two cats, who were returned safely to their owners.
