Results Released In CHP's SWR Labor Day Weekend DUI Checkpoint

Officials staffed the operation on Friday night.

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A total of four people were arrested at a Labor Day Weekend DUI checkpoint in the unincorporated area of Southwest Riverside County, the California Highway Patrol announced Tuesday.

The operation was held Friday night at Rancho California and Butterfield Stage roads near Temecula, according to CHP Officer Mike Lassig. It started at 6 p.m. and lasted eight hours.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Lassig said. Another two were arrested for illegal possession of fire arms and possession for sales of marijuana oil, he said.

CHP officers issued another four tickets for miscellaneous violations and two vehicles were impounded at the scene, according to Lassig.

Another four people were arrested on suspicion of DUI the same night in Temecula, where the police department carried out saturation patrols.
