RivCo Woman's Body ID'd As Suspicious Death Investigation Ensues
The 23-year-old woman's body was found inside a home on a quiet, residential street in Moreno Valley.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The death of a Riverside County woman is being investigated as suspicious, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Moreno Valley station, has announced.
Deputies were called to the scene at 3:30 p.m., regarding the unresponsive woman, identified as Elana Davis, 23. Her body was found inside a home in the 14000 block of Woodlark Lane, in Moreno Valley.
"Upon arrival, deputies arrived to find Davis, unresponsive and not breathing," Sgt. Alberto Lauriero said. "Life-saving measures were attempted, but paramedics ultimately pronounced her dead at the scene."

During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned Davis had been in a physical altercation with a family member.
"During the altercation, she lost consciousness and stopped breathing," he said. "Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation."

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
