Shop, Eat At Small Murrieta Businesses And Maybe Win An iPad
The City of Murrieta and the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce are kicking off a social media campaign to support local businesses.
MURRIETA, CA — To celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27, the City of Murrieta and the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce are celebrating with the giveaway of two iPads.
People who shop or dine at Murrieta businesses between November 22 - 28 can enter themselves in a drawing to win one of the two iPads. Each shopping trip is considered an eligible entry, the city said.
To enter the contest, patrons are asked to take a selfie and post their photos on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ShopSmallMurrieta. Contestants must also tag the City of Murrieta (@CityofMurrieta) and the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce (@MMWCoC) in their posts. The posts must be shared between November 22 and November 28.

Two winners will be selected and announced on November 30.
Murrieta City Council proclaimed November 27, 2021, as Small Business Saturday to highlight the significance of supporting small, independently owned businesses in the city.

In Murrieta, there are more than 5,000 small businesses, according to the city.
“The City of Murrieta is proud to be an advocate for our small businesses so they can continue to strengthen our community. Each one of us can make a difference this holiday season. Let’s shop small, Murrieta!” said Scott Agajanian, Murrieta’s deputy director of economic development.
The Small Business Saturday campaign is a way for the community to show support for local businesses during the holidays through social media posts.
"It’s a simple way to show your support and is a no-cost marketing tool for local businesses," according to the city's news release.
“Supporting the small businesses in our community is crucial, especially with everything small business owners have had to endure in the past 20 months," said Patrick Ellis, president/CEO of the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. "This Small Business Saturday contest will help remind shoppers that when they choose to shop small, they make a big impact on our local business community.”
