Small Brush Fire Breaks Out Near La Cresta In Murrieta

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department used ground and air attacks on the blaze that burned in the Santa Rosa Plateau community.

MURRIETA, CA — A brush fire broke out Thursday evening near La Cresta in unincorporated Murrieta, but crews aggressively fought the blaze to prevent a massive incident.

The non-injury fire was reported at 6:20 p.m. in the 39000 block of Sunset View Circle.

Air and ground crews attacked the slow-moving fire that burned approximately 1 acre as of 6:45 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Tawny Cabral.

By nightfall, crews had a handle on the brusher.

There was no word on what sparked the fire, which remains under investigation.
