MURRIETA, CA — Southwest Riverside County cat owner Robyn Hargrove is sharing her beloved cat, Butters, with the world in the new America's Favorite Pet for 2026. The winner of the contest, which ends Thursday at 7 p.m. PSD, will be featured on the cover of Modern Cat Magazine, and take home $10,000, according to the contest.

There are just over three days left in quarter-finals voting, that ends on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. PST. "Butters is charming, very playful and loyal. He’s very protective over me! He’s a flame point Siamese!" Hargrove wrote on the voting website. "He’s Gods gift to me!"

Of her orange cat, Hargrove says he loves opening covers, rearranging everything inside, and sleeping on his owner's chest.

"Butter’s doesn’t know why he’s special but everyone knows why he’s special when they have the pleasure of meeting him. Butters has a soft colored coat, kissed with flames and striking blue Siamese eyes," she says. "He’s so handsome that he turns hands but what makes him truly unforgettable is how he loves."

According to Hargrove, Butters is "very diligent, quiet and intelligent, and very expressive and prideful. He loves to bring his prey in and lay them by my bed whether it’s a mouse, bird or lizard. I’m alway so proud of him!"
