Suspected Prowler Arrested In Murrieta Police Chase

MURRIETA, CA — A police chase Wednesday night in Murrieta that involved patrols on the ground and in the air resulted in an arrest.

Reports from the community began to come in around 8 p.m. about a helicopter flying overhead in the area around Los Alamos Road and Hancock Avenue.

The Murrieta Police Department confirmed on social media that officers were searching for a suspected prowler.

"Please remain indoors and cooperate with officers as needed," the MPD posted.

Shortly afterward, the department provided a community update stating that a "Subject has been located and [is] in police custody."

The department said it would not immediately release further details, but reported there was no danger to residents.
