Teen Hit By 2 Cars, Killed In Menifee Crash

The coroner's office has since identified the victim as an 18-year-old.

MENIFEE, CA — An 18-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by two cars in Menifee on Tuesday night, the sheriff's department reports. The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 74 and Menifee Road.

"Officers arrived on scene within minutes, along with personnel from Cal Fire, and found the subject lying in the roadway," sheriff's Sgt. Michael Hamilton said in a news release. "Life saving measures were attempted; however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene."

Officials shut down the highway to conduct their investigation and learned that two vehicles were headed west on Highway 74 when the woman walked into the roadway, according to Hamilton.

"The victim was struck by one vehicle and then another vehicle," he said.

The woman has since been identified by the coroner's office as Deena Ledesma of Hemet.

Police say they are still investigating the deadly incident and asked anyone who may have witnessed it happen to call Officer Smith at (951) 210-1000.
