As club season has ended and traveling to practices in the cold have ended and team holiday parties have been a good time for all, we head into high school soccer season. High school does not get the draw of college coaches as does club soccer now, but it is a honor and you get some bragging rights if you make a high school soccer team. Sometimes players have to make a choice do I want my studies to suffer if I play on this high school team and those players turn down the spot on a high school team to concentrate on their studies and I commend those players. For my girls they know they have to maintain a 3.0 GPA to stay on the team and both of my girls have been working very hard on their studies and their soccer skills.
High school soccer league starts very soon and I am looking forward to watching good soccer from both of my girls team at Murrieta Valley high school.. Frosh and JV girls soccer teams. Then high school will be over in late February and we are back with our club coaches and getting ready for state cup and college showcases.
It is a never ending cycle that keeps us moving and we get to meet wonderful people and see some beautiful soccer fields and some so not beautiful fields. I love to watch all my girls play and they make me very proud. Some people call us crazy or don't understand our dedication to the soccer life, but we don't know any other way and we would not change it for a minute.
Good luck to everyone that is playing high school soccer and that loves this crazy soccer life, like us!!
