Three Killed in Murrieta Rollover Wreck

Officials say there were three males inside the sedan when it veered off Winchester Road, through a guard rail and into a dirt field.

MURRIETA, CA- Three people were killed Saturday in a rollover crash on Route 79, on the border between Murrieta and an unincorporated area of Riverside County, the Murrieta Police Department reported.

The crash was reported at 1:50 a.m. on Route 79 (Winchester Road), south of Max Gillis Boulevard.

A silver 2002 Lexus sedan veered off Winchester Road, through a guard rail and into an open dirt field, said the department’s Sgt. Dava Baca.

“The driver and two occupants were unresponsive and pronounced deceased by medical first responders,” Baca said in a news release.

“Investigators from the Riverside Country Sheriff/Coroner’s Office responded to the collision scene,” he added. “At the time of this press release Coroner investigators are attempting to identify the male decedents and have not been able to notify the next of kin.”
