In Southwestern League Boys' basketball Thursday night, the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks beat Chaparral High 63-43. The Nighthawks, led by Kevin Padlo's 20 points, improved to 3-1 in league and 14-6 overall. Jacob Forte added 14 and Tyler Bilton scored 10 for MVHS.
The Vista Murrieta Broncos defeated the Murrieta Mesa Rams 69-59 as Austin Beech scored 17 points, and Spencer Benson and Damon Dubots each added 13 for the Broncos. Vista is now 1-3 in league and 10-9 overall. The Rams, 1-3 and 10-10 overall, were led by Shondell Smith's 17 points, while Davon Sanders chipped in with 14.
