Tour de Murrieta has returned to town, along with all the excitement it brings.
Hundreds of cyclists are in Historic Downtown Murrieta for the annual qualifying event that kicked off Friday morning and lasts through Sunday.
While most race participants are already in the know, Murrieta residents can check this calendar of events for tips on how to make the most of the "American Idol" of cycling, such as when and where to watch.

Friday:

Sunday:
Enjoy the sights and sounds, but be aware many streets in the downtown and Town Square areas will be closed during event hours. The Murrieta Public Library is closed Saturday due to the races. Parking is available at Murrieta City Hall; event organizers advise against parking in business lots to avoid towing.
