In Southwestern League Boys' basketball Tuesday night, the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks lost a thriller, 57-54, to league leading Temecula Valley at TVHS. The Nighthawks were led by Tyler Bilton's 21 points and Kevin Padlo's 11. MVHS dropped to 3-2 in league and 14-7 overall.
Vista Murrieta also lost a close one, losing to Chaparral in overtime, 53-49. Austin Beech led the Broncos with 17 points, while Spencer Benson chipped in 11. VMHS fell to 1-4 in the SWL and 10-10 overall.
Murrieta Mesa was supposed to play at Great Oak, but the game was postponed until Saturday due to an unplayable court.
