Vista Murrieta's JROTC Heads To Nat'l Academic Bowl Championship
Vista Murrieta High School's Air Force JROTC Academic Team will travel to Washington D.C. to compete against the top 15 teams in the nation.

From the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: Vista Murrieta High School’s Air Force JROTC Academic Team will travel to Washington D.C. to compete against the top 15 teams in the nation at the AF JROTC Academic Bowl Championship on Sunday, June 24.
“Nationwide, there are about 800 Air Force Junior ROTC programs and the majority of them have academic teams compete in this program,” said Vista Murrieta High School JROTC instructor USAF (Ret) Lt. Col. Gevin S. Harrison.” The teams compete in three highly competitive rounds online answering questions in math, grammar, science, history, and current events. The winning team from the Air Force will go on to compete against the winning teams from the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps JROTC Academic Championships in a four- way competition.
The College Options Foundation sponsors the JROTC Academic Bowl Championship competition and the United States Air Force pays for the teams’ travel and lodging expenses.
