Murrieta, CA - Siblings, Luna and Spencer Canham are graduating with the Class of 2020 on June 2nd from Sage Oak Charter Schools. When they heard that due to Coronavirus, their commencement ceremony would move to a virtual setting, they decided it was important to honor their fellow graduating seniors.

The Canhams worked together to write, compose, and perform an original song titled “This Is Our Song” dedicated to the Sage Oak graduating class of 2020. Many of their peers participated by reading their chosen senior quote, some inspiring, some thoughtful, and others using humor to show acceptance of these unprecedented circumstances. Sage Oak Charter Schools will graduate 74 high school seniors virtually this June.
“I have had the privilege of getting to work with Luna and Spencer for almost their entire schooling careers. During this time, I feel it is I that has learned the most,” says the Canhams’ teacher, Erin Bunch. “Luna has shown me how to set your sights on a goal and work with unwavering determination to get there. Spencer is a quiet leader, always surprising me with a different perspective and teaching me to see things in new ways. Both are talented and incredibly creative. I cannot wait to see what else they accomplish!”

As their song eloquently states, “inspire each other, together we’re stronger,” graduating students in the class of 2020 across the country are stronger together and a source of inspiration as they make history as a class that graduated amidst a global pandemic.
