
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire recorded its largest daily decrease since Jan. 23 Friday, dropping 1.2 cents to $3.44.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped seven consecutive days following a 35-day streak of increases and is 4.5 cents less than one week ago and 53.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
However, it is 68.9 cents higher than one month ago.

“Los Angeles wholesale gasoline prices have dropped by 55 cents since their highest point of 2015 reached on Feb. 25,” said Jeffrey Spring, the corporate communications manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
“Based on current wholesale price levels, at least some Southern California gas stations could drop prices back below $3 a gallon provided those levels are maintained. As of today, there are already some Southland gas stations charging less than $3.20 a gallon.

“We encourage motorists to aggressively shop around and patronize the lowest-priced stations near them to encourage competition.”
